Kā‘anapali Beach, Maui, Hawai‘i—With health and wellness being top-of-mind for many travelers, Starwood Vacation Ownership is pleased to offer its first full-service spa in Hawai‘i catering to those looking for ultimate pampering and relaxation.  Spa Helani at The Westin Ka‘anapali Ocean Resort Villas (North) is scheduled to open its 10,000 square-foot plush facility in May 2008.  Spa Helani will feature 13 treatment rooms including a couples massage suite, hydrotherapy rooms, sauna, steam rooms, and two uniquely-designed courtyard massage cabanas located in an intimate outdoor setting.

The two-level Spa Helani will offer services including massages, body treatments, facials, manicures, and pedicures.  The following signature treatments have been specifically created to provide guests with the finest spa experience while incorporating unique Hawaiian elements:

• Kā‘anapali Oceania Couples Ritual Massage - This deeply relaxing and renewing experience connects mind, body and spirit with a unique tandem massage using pure, virgin coconut oil.  The Polynesian-style massage technique features choreographed flowing movements reminiscent of the oceanic explorations that the Polynesian people undertook.  After the tandem massage, the voyage continues with a luxuriously smooth and creamy coconut crème/frangipani milk bath for two featuring island botanical essences to send the senses soaring.
• Lilikoi Fruit Melody - This indulgent and luxurious body rejuvenation treatment begins with a gentle island sugarcane and lilikoi (Hawaiian passion fruit) body exfoliation that leaves the skin feeling fresh and smooth.  The indulgence continues with a decadent body wrap of a lilikoi body butter soufflé to nourish and hydrate the skin, followed by an uplifting massage using specially formulated lilikoi/citrus oil that brings an enchanting touch and scent of Hawai‘i to the experience.
• Polynesian Tamanu “Pōhaku” Hot Stone Massage - This therapeutic and deeply relaxing massage transforms the application of warmed basalt stones and a specialty “tamanu” balm into a truly renewing body experience.  This balm is derived from the Polynesian tamanu tree, “the tree of a thousand virtues,” and the green oil found in its fruit is endowed with remarkable healing and soothing properties.
• Aqua White Sand Glow - In this Polynesian beauty ritual, an exotic tropical gel consisting of white sand, crushed coconut husks and refined coconut monoi oil provides the perfect exfoliant.  After a refreshing warm rinse, the skin is smoothed with the application of a rich passion fruit/macadamia nut moisturizer.
• Banana Leaf Dilo Rescue Wrap - A truly remarkable healing experience for sensitive or sunburned skin, this wrap features the legendary oil extracted from the nuts of the Dilo tree.  The sacred tree grows on the white coral sands of the South Pacific Islands where its roots draw sustenance from mineral and nutrient-rich seawater, and is scientifically proven to stimulate the healing process by promoting growth of new skin cells.  Body butter and Dilo oil are applied to the skin, which is then wrapped in banana leaves.

In addition to these signature treatments, a number of traditional treatments, including skin and nail care services will be offered.  The new WestinWORKOUT® facility will open with the spa to allow guests to work out at their leisure.  The fitness center will include 1,145 square feet of indoor and outdoor workout space.  Resort guests can enjoy other amenities including the beautiful recreation lagoon, heated swimming pool and four outdoor whirlpools.
