At The Westin Kā‘anapali Ocean Resort Villas, the cultural center provides a sense of place for guests wishing to embrace and learn more of the Hawaiian culture and programs. Our team of resort Cultural Specialists, host a variety of lessons, including lei-making, chanting, tapa design, talk story sessions, Hawaiian language classes and more at the center. Our newest offering, Na Wahi Pana is a interactive presentation explaining the cultural significance and sacredness of sites like Haleakala, Wailuku, and Hana! Visitors can expect intimate and engaging experiences in which questions are encouraged.

New Cultural Class to Experience
The Pu'uhonua Cultural Center offers many classes and experiences that teach about the rich culture and traditions of Hawai'i. Our newest offering is called Na Wahi Pana. In this interactive presentation from our team of cultural specialists, guests learn the sacredness and significance of three popular destinations on Maui: Haleakalā, Wailuku, and Hāna!

Walking Tours of Lahaina
With a commitment to sharing Hawaiian culture and history, The Westin Ka‘anapali Ocean Resort Villas now offers a new historical walking tour of Lāhainā’s cultural sites with a cultural specialist. Each tour is personalized and through the art of storytelling, or mo‘olelo in Hawaiian, resort guests and owners will receive a detailed picture of what life was like in the days of old Hawai‘i and how history has shaped Lāhainā into the place it is today. Tours are every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 7:00 a.m. – 9:15 a.m (schedule subject to change). Round-trip transportation from The Westin Ka‘anapali to Lahaina town and back is included with the tour. For reservations, call 808-667-3254.
Cultural Fitness & Functional Movement
The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas is the exclusive venue for Kiakahi on the west side of Maui. This exciting and memorable physical activity and cultural experience is offered for ages 12 and up every Thursday at 8 a.m. While each session varies slightly, guests can expect to participate in movement inspired by Polynesian dance, Hawaiian martial arts and Makahiki games. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 808-667-3254 or by visiting an on-property concierge desk.
