Upscale Dining With A Fabulous Oceanview Setting
Enjoy upscale a-la carte service at the beautifully designed Pulehu Restaurant. Indulge in the choicest selections during breakfast served a la carte or savor steak and seafood specialties served evenings from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.
“Pulehu, which means grilled or cooked over an open flame in Hawaiian language, will offer a la carte fish and meats prepared in your favorite style,” explained Alex Soto, the resort’s Director of Food & Beverage. “From fresh island fish such as mahi mahi, Hawaiian snapper, monchong and ahi to excellent meat cuts such as filet mignon, New York steak, rack of lamb and free range chicken breast, guests can savor each exquisite creation with a choice of sauces including lemon buerre blanc, mango fennel chutney, mushroom cognac cream and port sauce to name a few,” added Alex.
Located on the lower lobby level of the north resort, the restaurant offers a semi-closed dining area as well as an outdoor seating area overlooking the lush landscaped koi ponds with magnificent ocean views. Within the restaurant is a show kitchen so diners may enjoy watching the fast paced action as chefs whips up each specialty. A private dining area that comfortably seats 12 persons is also available for small dinner parties and cozy receptions. The restaurant’s overall seating capacity is 125 persons.
A unique feature of Pulehu restaurant is its stone oven where freshly baked flatbread and calzones will be created for all to savor with various toppings and fillings.
Among the signature dishes that are offered as Appetizers at Pulehu Restaurant are Tempura Maui Onion Rings, Pacific Oysters on Half Shell, Grilled Asparagus Oscar and Crispy Pita Hummus with Taboli. Soups & Salads include the House Salad with Haiku Baby Greens, Maui Onion Soup Gratinee and the Baby Spinach and Pancetta Salad.
The Main Entrée selection has a varied list of house specialties including Bouillabaisse with prawns, crabs, clams, snapper, scallops, and mussels in a lobster saffron broth; Roasted Duck with wild rice risotto cake and dried fig port wine sauce; Sautéed Snapper Muniere, a fresh filet with scallop and rock shrimp hash; as well as the Volcanic Seasoned Monchong sautéed with fresh island succotash.
The restaurant also offers an extensive wine list to complement the varied menu selections. From champagne to white and red wines as well as alternative whites and reds, wine connoisseurs will find much joy in sampling the discerning choices.
Pulehu also opens daily for breakfast from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. with a choice of a sumptuous breakfast buffet, continental breakfast and a la carte selections ranging from Steak and Eggs with home fries and toast to Maui Style Loco Moco with fried eggs, hamburger patty and onion gravy over rice. Other breakfast delights include Buttermilk Pancakes; Eggs Benedict with choice of Canadian bacon, smoked salmon or fresh Kula tomato; French Toast with Fresh Strawberries; Smoked Salmon and Bagel with cream cheese and onions; Steel Cut Oatmeal with golden raisins, milk and toast; and so much more!
